In Catbox help Kyurin the recursive multidimensional cat exit the rooms he got himself in, solve puzzles by grabbing crates and make objects bigger by sending them through dimensions! It's a mind-bending platformer based on physics.

This game was made in less than 96 hours for the GMTK Game Jam 2024. The theme was BUILT TO SCALEIt matches the theme with the objects re-scaling themselves when they go through a dimension and using that mechanic to solve puzzle. It is also on aesthetics with our sense of scale getting put to the test with recursive dimensions contained within dimensions themselves.

How to play

Move: A and D // Left and Right arrow keys // Left joystick // D-Pad // Q and D (AZERTY Keyboard users)

Jump: Z // Up Arrow // 🞪 or o or A or B on gamepad

Grab: Space // Any gamepad Trigger or Shoulder button

Throw: Same as Grab when an object is held

Dimensional Switch: X // â—» or â–³ or X or Y

Restart: Use mouse to click on button onscreen // Back or Select

really dang cool and godot as well ? how long did it take you to code it ?

Thank you! Four days actually, it was for a game jam

I like it, what's your discord ? I want to show you something we are working on

(+1)

I like recursion but this gets tedious at times.

Good work,i love your game

Wow! That's a very cutie and funny game! There's some hard parts, some VERY hard parts, I mean, and I lated 30 minutes to win. Yes, I was angry because I needed to restart over and over and over... But that's an INCREDIBLE game!!!

(Your game is at start. I also have commentary version of the video.)

Very fun game, despite can be janky at times, and clip off the floors of the box dimension/s at times. Cute graphics (<adores pixel art. Easy 10/10!), and pretty cozy music! One of my favorites in this game jam.

Ijust can't figure out level 10.  I can get the key down to the bottom, but not the middle section on the right with the vortex box.  Usually when I knock it over, it disappears though.

A good mix between Patrick's Parabox and Recursed

which recursed?

look it up on steam

Pressing volume on my keyboard goes left for some reason. Love the game though.

Cool Idea. Reminds me of Patrick's parabox. Though Rightnow it seems very easy to softlock yourself. Like throwing a box on a platform too high forces you to reset.

Wonderful game!!! the music and graphics are on point! the dimension switching mechanic is interesting and I like the musical touch, but it is a tad confusing at first! Great work :)

Clever game! I love the little meow the cat does, as well as the cool cross dimensional puzzle solving! Cats and boxes, shenanigans occur!

this is fun! i left a room in the middle where stuff drops... let's say things got big fast before i realized xD

(+1)

I say this is going to be on the top 100.

It took me a while to understand what was going on but it was cool !

I had no idea we were discarding euclidean geometry in a game called catbox, but here we are. 10/10

cool

Fun Game. The different dimensions aspect seems like a creative approach to the scale theme. I wish the character was a little bigger, but other than that its great.

Super creative and brilliantly executed! I found myself getting stuck quite a bit, usually by pinning myself underneath a giant key or running out of space. The puzzles requires some out of the box thinking but I think the difficulty in the solutions ramps up a bit too fast. Wonderful game, I would play this as a full release!

Really cool game. There's a lot of times where I accidentally threw an object into the other dimension because I couldn't place it properly. Would be helpful to either be able to place something without throwing OR be able to throw upward

Also very nice style. I like the cat
